Wet Plate Printing & Enlarging at the Center for Alternative Photography (New York) this weekend.

In this two-day workshop at the Center for Alternative Photography, (the education branch of Penumbra Foundation in New York City), students will learn how to create ambrotypes (positives on glass), opalotypes (positives on white tin), and tintypes (positives on blackened tin) using an enlarger. They will be taught techniques of preparing the plate, cleaning glass, pouring collodion, exposing, developing, fixing, and varnishing.
