“Ritual Industry: From a Different Angle,” images from the Burns Collection on view at Resobox.

On view at Resobox cultural space in Long Island City is an exhibition called “Ritual Industry: From a Different Angle,” featuring images from the Burns Collection, one of the most comprehensive private collections of early photography.  The exhibition includes 19th century photographs that depict the three mainstays of Japanese industry at the time: rice, silk, and tea.

On November 29th at 7 PM, there will be a lecture by Helen Moss, an instructor from IchiFuji-kai Dance Association, who will discuss aspects of ritual, manual processing, and rapid industrialization in regards to these three products.
