On view at the Daniger Gallery through January 16th are wet plate images of the American west – including Yosemite and Monument Valley – by Ian Ruhter. Ruhter works out of a delivery-truck-turned-camera-obscura, which allows him to make plates up to 48″x60″ in size. This work is not to be missed!
Concurrently, Danziger Gallery is showing work by other photographers who have also helped “re-imaging and re-invigorate the Western pictorial tradition,” including Matthew Brandt, Michael Light, Andrew Moore, Jim Krantz, and David Benjamin Sherry.
