San Francisco Camerawork and the Chinese Culture Foundation of San Francisco have paired up to organize 回 Retrieved, a photography exhibition on view simultaneously at Camerwork and the Chinese Culture Center. The two shows feature complementary bodies work from three projects that reflect on “the transition and movement of time, place, and people in modern China, and [are] based on either abandoned or neglected photographs that were gleaned by artists with varied relationships to the source material.” Photographers include Kurt Tong, Thomas Sauvin, and Daniel Traub.
The exhibitions are on view at Camerawork from February 20th – April 16 and at the Chinese Culture Center from February 20th – May 14th.
There will be an opening reception held concurrently at both locations on February 19th from 6 – 8 PM. (Shuttle bus service will be provided.)
An artists’ talk and book signing will take place at Camerawork on February 23rd from 6 – 8 PM.
