Tomorrow, May 20th, at 1:30 PM, Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Judy Walgren will discuss the blurred lines between documentary, journalism, and art in late 20th Century photography in conjunction with the exhibition Roman Vishniac Rediscovered on display at the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco. CJM is offering a discounted ticket price to San Francisco Camerawork members.
The exhibition will be on view through May 29th. With recently discovered and diverse new bodies of work by the artist, Visniac’s iconic images of Eastern Europe are placed within a broader context of social documentary photography of the 1930s.
