Wet Plate in the Field with Lisa Elmaleh through Penumbra, May 13th – 15th

Wet Plate in the Field gives participants the unique opportunity to learn the craft of wet plate collodion in an outdoor setting, building darkrooms and shooting on location.  Suitable for people with any level of experience, the workshop will cover chemistry safety and mixing, coating, exposing, processing, and varnishing plates, how to build a darkroom, and how to modify a camera.  Students will learn how to make tintypes, ambrotypes, and glass negatives.

Held at Lisa’s cabin in Pawpaw, West Virginia, participants are responsible for their own travel, food, tents, and sleeping bags.  For those who don’t want to camp, there are other lodging options nearby.
