The SFO Museum will be showing Elaine Mayes: It Happened in Monterey through August 10th in the San Francisco International Airport. In 1967, Mayes photographed the Monterey International Pop Music Festival and captured images of seminal musicians of the period, such as Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, and Jefferson Airplane, as well as first-U.S. appearances of The Who, Jimi Hendrix, and Otis Redding.
If you were ever looking for an excuse to visit San Francisco, this is it!
