In 2013, Stephen Takacs built a camera obscura modeled on a 1940s-era Brownie box camera and has since traversed the country photographing craftspeople who continue to work with their hands in this increasingly digitized world. He will be showing selections of this work, as well as color installation images of the Brownie – at Bushwick Community Darkroom in Brooklyn from October 17th through December 1st. The Brownie itself will be on site from October 17th through 26th. An opening reception will be held on October 17th from 6:30 – 9:30pm.
