Learn how to Shoot film!
Darkroom members, help us launch the Camera Lending Library at The Halide Project. Sign up for our short 1-hour orientation at The Halide Project. During the hour-long session, you will be guided through the basics of handling a 35mm SLR. While most of our darkroom members already work with SLRs, the orientation will give you access to new SLRs to try, medium format TLRs, and a growing library as the Fall progresses. Your input and participation will help us refine the syllabus for a basic walkthrough and use of a 35mm SLR. Bring any questions, get signed up as an official Lending Library member, and take home a camera (for 1-week) as part of your initiation fee. You might learn a new thing of two about the camera you already use. Film photography is all about slowing down and enjoying the process. Unlike digital, where you can fire off hundreds of shots, here, every frame matters. There’s thought, intent, and creativity in every shot.
Instructors: Etwan Crawford and Rick Wright
Price for the orientation session that includes membership to library and a free 1-week rental: $25
