This Means Something is a critique based workshop for photographers who are interested in critical feedback of their work. This workshop will run over the course of four weeks and is designed for people of all experiences working in photography. Part academic, part theoretical, and part peer-to-peer, the aim of the workshop is about how to find language to describe one's process and discuss ambitions for your work. This workshop will begin in the first week with group critique lead by Christopher Postlewaite and will conclude in the fourth week with a final round of critiques of new photographs. In Weeks 2 and 3, we will look at the work of other photographers through slide lectures and books. Each participant's critique will run approximately 20 minutes. This workshop is dependent on group participation and those willing to challenge themselves and each other in order to gain a deeper understanding of their own voice and ideas within the medium. Participants will begin by showing 10-15 pictures and are expected to be continually making new photographs. By the fourth week it is expected that participants will show an additional 5-10 new photographs.
